One download includes the previous improvements
Choose the latest installer for your edition and computer. Each is a complete application: you do not need to install the intermediate versions. Save your work and close LPP before updating.
Student: use Check for updates in the app, or download the full installer below. Paid Desktop: use Check for updates in versions that include the updater. Older installations need the latest full installer once. Check each platform’s release notes.
Windows, Mac, Linux and Raspberry Pi use separate packages. Check the version and release notes beside your download; platforms may receive an improvement at different times. Student and paid Desktop keep their own activation and licences. Annual Desktop activation requires version 0.1.10 or later.

The same LPP planning tools with a separate six-week (42-day) Student licence. New access starts on your first successful sign-in in the Student app. Installing again or using another device does not restart it.
Before you download
You can sign in or create an LPP account from the app. Verify your email and accept the Student terms to receive Student access automatically. Any email provider is accepted. An internet connection is needed for sign-in and regular access checks. Student activates through your account—there is no licence key or offline activation.
Already have a lifetime licence? Use the lifetime Desktop downloads; its price, terms and activation stay the same.

Release notes for this installer
New Student access lasts six weeks from first successful app sign-in. Existing agreed dates remain unchanged; explicitly granted lifetime Student access is shown in the app. Includes automatic rendering quality, cached cab lookup, crane controls and Derrick radio improvements. Save your work before updating.
Tested on: Windows x86_64 full package resources and native signed-candidate download, tamper, key and version checks passed. No installer executed; actual installed-client upgrade and hardware frame-rate measurements remain untested.
This Windows installer uses LPP’s self-signed certificate, as used for the lifetime installer. Windows does not independently trust this publisher and may show an unknown-publisher or SmartScreen warning. LPP verifies download checksums and signs in-app updates. Managed computers may block installation; contact support or your administrator if needed.
SHA-256 checksum and verification

VirusTotal links look up the exact installer SHA-256. A report may not exist yet; these links do not submit files or certify this software. A matching checksum confirms that your download matches the published file, not that it is free of malware.
2. Activate with your LPP account
- Open Student and select Sign in to my LPP account.
- In the browser, sign in or create an account, verify your email, read and accept the Student terms, then approve the request.
- Return to Student. Your first successful app sign-in starts your six weeks; your expiry date appears in the app.
Choose Create an LPP account in the app if you are new. Student 1.0.2 remembers your session securely and checks your access online when you open it. Sign in again when the session expires; earlier versions may ask on each launch. Accepting the terms again does not restart an existing Student access period. Existing grants retain their agreed period and expiry date.
3. Keep Student up to date
- Select Check for updates inside Student. It also checks automatically.
- Read the release notes and choose Download update.
- Once the update is verified, save your projects, confirm they are saved, then choose Install and restart.
Your projects and settings are retained. You do not need to download a fresh installer for each compatible update. An update never restarts the access period.
What’s new in Student 1.0.10
Windows and Linux x86_64 Student 1.0.10 include the current Student access display and simulator performance changes. Mac and Raspberry Pi retain their previous versions. Each platform entry records its own release and verification status.
Need help installing or signing in?
If sign-in does not finish, check your connection and return to the browser to approve the request. Use the same account that has Student access.
If Linux reports a missing AppImage or FUSE dependency, follow your distribution’s package instructions or contact support with the exact message and OS version.
If an installer cannot be verified, or an update fails verification, stop and download again from this page. If it still fails, contact support with the version and error message.
If your Student access expires, your projects and settings stay on your computer. Save any open project locally using the option shown in the app. You can then choose Get Desktop — £300/year for a separate annual subscription through Stripe checkout. It renews until cancelled; Student never charges you automatically. After verified payment, use Desktop 0.1.10 or later and your activation key.

Sign in with the account that purchased Desktop to download its installer and activation key. Cloud membership is separate. There is no free desktop trial.

Open a panel for downloads and instructions. Existing lifetime owners do not need to purchase again. Annual licences require version 0.1.10 or later; earlier packages are for legacy lifetime owners only.
Just need Connect or your Cloud workspace?
Connect is available to free accounts. Paid Cloud subscribers can open their subscribed workspace. Desktop licences do not include a Cloud subscription.

LPP Connect & Team Chat
Available directly from the LPP website for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS/iPadOS. A place for lifting teams to discuss jobs, share drawings and files, and review work together by video. Clients can also find LPP professionals and send work requests without joining LPP.
Who can use it?
- Clients / non-members: browse published professional profiles and send work enquiries free. No account, subscription or CAD purchase is needed. Include your contact email so the professional can respond.
- Free LPP accounts: create an account or sign in with your usual login to use authorised team channels, private connected-member messages, shared files and meetings. The same conversations are available on the web and in the installed app.
- Professionals — free: enable your public listing under Profile → Professional listing, choose your services and review incoming work enquiries there.
Installing the app is free and grants no access to paid planning tools. Paid users can open their full subscribed LPP workspace using the same account. Profiles, Team Chat, private messages and meetings do not require a subscription. Private channels still require permission, and private messaging requires an accepted connection. The app does not include the paid LPP CAD desktop licence or cloud subscription. Enquiries do not give clients access to private team channels.
